About Michael
Hello, I'm glad you're interested in getting to know me better. I was born and raised in Utah. At an early age I found adventure in the books and the imaginations of my older sister who was never short on creativity. I grew up in a "sandlot" style neighborhood playing football, baseball, basketball, night-games, and biking to the local yogurt parlor and dollar theater on weekends with my gang of friends.
About the age of twelve I was introduced to J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis who quickly became my favorite authors. After reading of their adventures (and many other adventures from others such as Twain and Stevenson), I began to discover my own imagination and adventures. Many of which resulted in me persuading my gang of friends to join in the adventures...usually through filming them.
After high school I served an LDS mission to the Philippines where I began making small notes of ideas which would be the beginnings of my writing. When I returned from my mission I pursued my education at Brigham Young University Idaho where I majored in English and History Education. I have spent the last five years teaching young kids the joy of learning and I hope I was able to cultivate imagination and creativity within them.
This blog site is for all those who enjoyed my time as teacher, mentor, storyteller, and coach. I've decided to share my stories (all of them; both life and written) to all who'd love to follow along my crazy life.
